It starts with a few ideas.

It's the actors who create the script.

Such is the joy of "Improviso!," Theatre 3's next offering at Etcetera, Live Theatre Workshop's late-night arm.

The Commedia dell'Arte troupe will make use of masks, songs, words and loads and loads of humor for the piece.

Here's the basic story: Flaminia, a yogi, longs to marry dancer Flamio.

But Pantalona, Flaminia's mom, is not at all keen on the idea.

As it turns out, Pantalona doesn't even believe in love.

Those sketched-out ideas are translated into a bawdy and hilarious work - or so it seemed when we stopped in at a recent rehearsal.

Performances are 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 and 23; and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and 21. Tickets are $10. Live Theatre is at 5317 E. Speedway, 327-4242.
