How would you use your position as an elected official to help businesses create jobs in Southern Arizona?

I have 2 decades of experience working in the private sector.  I run a debt-free company.  I know how to balance budgets and create jobs.  I also understand the immense burden that government regulations put on business and why those regulations make a true economic recovery almost impossible.

We need real world solutions to fix the problem.  We need to insist on a balanced budget.  We need to curb wasteful spending and get government off the backs of businesses allowing them to grow in the free market and ultimately spend money.

Should the qualifications for Medicaid or AHCCCS be broadened to make more people eligible?

If you were in a position to vote for SB 1070, would you have voted for or against it?

I would have voted for SB1070.

Our border must be secured now.  The rule of law must be upheld.  Illegal immigrants cannot be rewarded for breaking the law with amnesty.

For decades, Congress has ignored the millions of people crossing our borders illegally, competing for jobs, draining our resources and bringing increased crime to our communities. Securing the border is one of my top priorities.

In a world of finite resources, what if anything would you be willing to cut to better fund education?

Funding education is always a priority.  However, Congress and the federal government are already spending more than they bring in.  Serious cuts need to be made to the federal government's budget to get the country back on track but I would not reroute those dollars to increase education funding.  As a country, we need to work with the resources we have.

Should local government fight to keep the Rosemont Copper Mine out or encourage the company to stay?

Local government should encourage Rosemont Copper Mine to stay.  The company provides jobs, revenue and resources to Arizona and the United States.

What is the most important issue in your race?

Jobs and the economy. While we have a lot of issues facing our country right now, the majority are tied into our economic problems.  We must focus on repairing our economy, creating jobs and stabilizing our nation's spending.  This is why I am running. I am a businessman, not a career politician.   I understand the challenges that our country is facing and I have a unique skill set that will help me address these challenges.  I am not going to Washington to start a career, or collect a pension.  I am going to Washington to help be part of the solution.
