Gas grills that leak, high chairs that are especially prone to causing falls, and melting flashlights are among products recalled in the first days of 2012.

A rundown of the products recalled this week:

PORTABLE GAS GRILLS

DETAILS: O-Grill portable gas grills manufactured by Uni-O (Xiamen) Industries Corporation of Xiamen, China, and sold by LL Bean, Stoneman, BBQG, Walgreens, REI, Dillards and Dick’s Sporting Goods from November 2008 through December 2010.

WHY: The regulator on the grill can leak gas, which can ignite, posing a fire and burn hazard.

INCIDENTS: No injuries or property damage but Uni-O has received 10 reports of grills catching fire.

HIGH CHAIRS

DETAILS: ANTILOP high chairs made in China and sold at IKEA stores from August 2006 through January 2010.

WHY: The high chair’s restraint buckle can open unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard to the child.

INCIDENTS: IKEA has received eight reports buckles opening unexpectedly, three involving children who received minor injuries after falling from the high chair.

HOW MANY: About 169,000 in the U.S. and Canada.

CHILDREN’S CHAIRS AND STOOLS

DETAILS: Children’s chairs and stools made in China and imported by Elegant Gifts Mart Inc. of Los Angeles; sold exclusively at 1 to Seven stores in Puerto Rico from September 2010 through June 2011. “PENGKO” is printed on the chair’s heart-shaped seatback.

WHY: The yellow surface paint on the metal frame contains excessive levels of lead, which is prohibited under federal law.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

HOW MANY: About 1,600 chairs and 1,300 stools.

BICYCLE PEDALS

DETAILS: 2011 Forte Pro Carbon Road Pedals made in Taiwan and imported by Performance Inc. of Chapel Hill, N.C., and sold at Performance’s website, catalogs and retail stores from February through October 2011. The bicycle pedals were sold in sets of two and attach to cycling shoes.

WHY: The pedal body can break or crack during use and cause the rider to lose control, posing a fall hazard.

INCIDENTS: Performance has received three reports of the pedals breaking. No injuries reported.

HOW MANY: About 2,900.

FLASHLIGHT SETS

DETAILS: 6-piece LED flashlight sets made in China and imported by Target Corp. of Minneapolis; sold at Target stores nationwide from October 2010 through December 2011. The flashlight sets are made of silver plastic with black rubber around the handle and light base.

WHY: When turned on, the flashlights can heat up, smoke or melt, posing fire and burn hazards.

INCIDENTS: Target has received reports of four incidents with the flashlights, including two minor burn injuries to consumer’s hands.

TEA LIGHTS

DETAILS: 5 Hour Tea Lights, made in Thailand and distributed by the Sterno Group LLC of Des Plaines, Ill.; sold in cases containing 500 candles by food service distributors and other restaurant supply stores nationwide from April 2011 through October 2011. The tea lights are standard sized, white wax tea light candles contained in small aluminum cups with no additional identification markings.

WHY: The tea light wax can overheat, resulting in the wax catching fire, which poses a burn and fire hazard.

INCIDENTS: Sterno has received several reports of the flame from the tea lights catching the wax on fire. No reports of injuries.

HOW MANY: About 10,000 cases.
