Tucson-based Raytheon Missile Systems has been awarded an $81.8 million Air Force contract for Miniature Air Launched Decoy Jammers (MALD-Js), the Pentagon said.

The MALD-J mimics the radar signature of a strike aircraft to fool enemy radars and has offensive radar-jamming capabilities. Raytheon won a $49 million engineering and manufacturing development contract for the MALD-J in 2010.

Work under the most recent contract is expected to be completed by the end of August, 2014, according to a Defense Department contract notice.
