Wick Communications names Yunt as new CEO
Tom Yunt was named president and chief executive officer of Sierra Vista-based Wick Communications Co.
The company publishes 28 newspapers and 18 specialty publications in 12 states.
Its Southern Arizona papers include The Daily Territorial, Inside Tucson Business, the Tucson Weekly, the Green Valley News & Sun, the Sahuarita Sun, the Sierra Vista Herald, the Arizona Range News, the Bisbee Review and the Nogales International.
Yunt was most recently president and CEO of Woodward Communications Inc., a multimedia company with media and marketing services businesses in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.
Yunt, who is scheduled to start work Monday, replaces John M. Mathew, Wick’s president and CEO since 2001. Company officials say Yunt and Mathew, who resigned in May, will work together through a transition period, The Associated Press reported.
UA surgery department welcomes Pappalardo
Jennifer L. Pappalardo, DPM, joined the University of Arizona department of surgery division of vascular and endovascular surgery as assistant professor.
She also is a member of the UA Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance team, where she recently completed a fellowship.
A diabetes foot-care specialist, Pappalardo focuses on education and conservative treatment options, with elective surgeries if needed.
She completed her medical studies at Rosalind Franklin University and a residency in podiatric surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center, both in Chicago.
Pappalardo has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests include bioengineered tissue alternatives in treatment of diabetes-related lower-extremity complications.
Long Realty adds Darlinton at its Golder Ranch office
Meghan Darlinton joined Long Realty’s Golder Ranch office.
Darlinton, who has relocated to Tucson from Phoenix, obtained her Realtor’s license in 2009, and a short sales and foreclosure resource (SFR) designation in 2010.
She focuses on the active adult and resort communities in the northwest Tucson area.
Culliney joins Caridad Community Kitchen
Caridad Community Kitchen, a branch of the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, named Kristen Culliney as life skills instructor/program manager.
Culliney will be responsible for the non-culinary student activity and classroom curriculum for a 10-week job training program.
As program manager, she will oversee the on-site meal and training programs.
Culliney has served as chief operating officer of the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona and assistant director of undergraduate programs at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management, the food bank said in a news release.
She earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Arizona with a major in agriculture and resource economics.
Guaranteed Rate names Wolsky as vice president
David Wolsky was named vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate.
Wolsky, a licensed mortgage originator with more than 19 years of experience, is the company’s first representative in Tucson, he said in a news release.
He is also the president of Tucson Sunrise Rotary.
