An alleged fraudulent scheme to enroll about 900 Tucson-area Medicare beneficiaries in different supplemental Medicare Advantage health plans without their consent is being investigated, the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services says.

The same agent handled most if not all 900 policy transfers that are under investigation, federal officials say. They did not identify the agent.
