Flying Leap Vineyards buys Canelo Hills
The five-year-old Canelo Hills Vineyard and Winery in Elgin is being sold to Flying Leap Vineyards, which owns a Willcox vineyard.
"The owners of Flying Leap are committed to producing quality wines from Arizona-grown grapes," Canelo Hills Vineyard's outgoing owners wrote on the winery's website and in an email to customers. "The Canelo Hills tasting room will reopen as Flying Leap and become their Sonoita-Elgin base. ... Our last day in the winery is Jan. 26."
Canelo Hills is offering a 15 percent discount on wine purchases until then to customers on its email list.

Average gas prices are down slightly
Arizona motorists are paying only slightly less at the pump this week.
The average statewide price for regular gasoline is $3.04 a gallon, AAA Arizona officials said Thursday. That's less than a penny lower than last week.
Tucson has the state's lowest average price at $2.86 a gallon; Flagstaff has the highest at $3.29. The U.S. average is $3.31 per gallon.

Business leaders of US, Mexico to meet at expo
CPLC Préstamos CDFI, LLC., a Chicanos por la Causa subsidiary, will hold a Conexiones International Business Expo today in Tucson, featuring business leaders and government experts from the United States and Mexico. Workshop topics will include how to start your own business, how to access capital, and how to do business internationally.
The expo runs from noon to 5 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave..

Tempe-based solar panel maker First Solar has purchased Chilean solar development company Solar Chile for an undisclosed sum, as energy demand continues to rise in the region.
