A missing 1-year-old girl, who police said was taken from a Tucson foster home by her 17-year-old mother, has been found.

Hours after authorities appealed to the public for help, the teen mom turned the little girl over to a family member on Saturday morning, said Sgt. Diana Lopez, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.

The child, Diamond Kodalen, disappeared Wednesday evening from the foster home near East 22nd Street and South Prudence Road. The mother, Manuela Martinez, also lived at the home.

Police had described the child as missing and endangered.
