The Tucson Airport Authority released the following statement on the American Airlines/US Airways merger:

Subject to regulatory approval, the airlines expect the transaction to close in the third quarter of 2013.  Prior to that time, passengers should not expect to see any changes in the airlines’ operations at Tucson International Airport.  The two carriers will continue to operate independently, and travelers should continue to book flights to and from Tucson International Airport as they do now.  Neither the reservations systems nor the frequent flyer programs have changed or are expected to change in the near future. The Tucson Airport Authority enjoys a strong relationship with both American and US Airways and we look forward to them continuing to provide excellent air service options for our customers.
